Natural Health

By choice, I run a small, client-focused health clinic in country NSW which helps clients to help themselves get well, naturally. If you are looking for a city-based naturopath, see here under Recommended People.

Actually, I'm not looking for just 'getting well', more like 'robust, sustainable, good health' so you can be all you can be. Such a reward takes hard work and responsibility from my clients and much thought, time and analysis on my part, so that's why I choose to have only so many people on my books at once.

My approach, generally nutrition-based and no-nonsense is not for everyone. If you are looking for tea and sympathy, pick a friend instead. I believe we create disease by supplying, over time, the right environment for it to flourish, and in doing so outwit our myriad natural defences. Similarly, the time, effort, understanding and responsiblity to un-create it will not be trivial and requires real commitment and acceptance of responsibilty and in many cases changing the habits of a lifetime.

In my practice, we look at every aspect - physical, mental, emtional and spiritual, all of which contribute to one's health and well-being, or lack thereof. I find out why something has happened, why your body's wonderful defences against disease states have broken down and once elucidated, what we can do to rebuild and maintain them. I also always explain the 'why' to my clients, in as simple a way as possible, and I certainly expect them to be interested, as part of the un-creating process. After all it is their health we're talking about, not an academic exercise.

As a result, I do not do 'quick fixes'; consultations take time and can be challenging. We may get some 'quick wins' but they are always part of a bigger picture of working towards sustainable good health. To do otherwise is like taking a goldfish out of its bowl when it looks sick, giving it a label, subjecting it to surgery, or feeding it supplements or drugs and then returning it to its dirty water in the hope that everything will now be OK.

If you do not see a problem with this approach wrt the goldfish, then perhaps my consultations are not for you. If however, my common sense, no-holds barred approach sounds like the help with your health that you've been searching for, then I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Pauline Roberts   PhD., BSc., DBM., MATMS.
