Environmental
Our focus is environmental geology, which is about how geology impacts living organisms. It includes geochemistry and medical geology. We think of the environment as something that is both 'out there' and within. If our own personal environment is less-than-harmonious, just as with a poorly maintained external environment, we're not going to thrive either.
So, our approach is one of understanding and helping all environments to thrive. For example, together with helping with the technical aspects of farm management, we also offer project management skills. Farmers, for example, are traditionally tactically-orientated which is not necessarily the predominant mindset needed for long term success. Sometimes we need to know where we're going to figure out how to get there. Sometimes we need to take a step back and ask "why are we doing this?"
When one has a good knowledge of one's environment, one can truly see the assets to hand and where the weaknesses are. Sometimes farmers haul in large amounts of a substance, only to find that the geology of another part of their farm can provide that mineral, once the rocks are crushed up. The solution was there all the time.
Or perhaps a weed is prolific because of the grazing patterns employed to date, nature doesn't put weeds on the ground to annoy farmers, merely to respond to the environment provided. Or when farmers get sick, they're not just unlucky, or it's 'that time of the year' we need to understand why, since from why real solutions to sustained good health come.
Thus, by helping people to understand their own environment and their external environment better, we seek to show people how they can solve their own problems, sustainably. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes and a willingness to see is all that is needed.
